MASANTOL Thousands of residents of this coastal town recently received free medical services and food parcels from the provincial government of Pampanga.

The Alagang Nanay Health Mission traveled to flooded coastal barangays yesterday to provide medical services and food parcels to hundreds of families affected by floods caused by recent monsoon rains.

Some 5,431 food parcels were delivered to beneficiaries by Governor Dennis Pineda at the event which was attended by local government officials.

The mission benefited the barangays of Alauli, Bagang, Balibago, Nigui, Sagrada and Sapang Kawayan.

Doctors from the district hospitals carried out checkups and consultations with the residents of the said barangays for disease detection and prevention.

People who have been diagnosed with diseases will be scheduled for operations – major and minor surgery free of charge.

The health mission also offered free blood tests, urine tests, X-rays, CT scans and 2D ultrasounds.

The village chiefs expressed their gratitude to the provincial government of Pampanga for bringing the Capitol’s health services closer to the people through the Alagang Nanay Health mission.
